Started by:tla100, Sep/05/10 09:45 PM
Buddy caught a nice 9-10 pound channel
out of small pond, thought we would try
smoking it. Anybody ever try it, I was
thinking 180-200 degrees for 4 hours.
Probably using alder wood in electric
smoker. Whats a good internal temp to
stop at. First time smok

I have all the ribs off of a hog my
brother in law and myself just
butchered, and want to smoke them. I
have a Char-Griller smoker, and am
looking for some of your tips and
recipes for doing this. I have tried
smoking baby backs before, and they just

A better way to fry ....
Started by:jdpartsman, Jun/23/10 07:42 PM
Most of the time I just use Shore Lunch
Beer Batter and fry them in a pan over
the stove in oil. Problem is it makes
the house smell for a few days and the
oil pops and snapps and goes all
over. I was looking at fish cookers
from Cabelas and Fleet Farm

I am looking for some good suggestions
from people that have smoked venison
roast. What kind of wood chips, temp of
smoker, timeframe and type of dry rubs
or seasoning techniques. I am using a
masterbuilt electric smokehouse. Thanks

Rack of Lamb
Started by:CZenner, Sep/02/10 12:35 PM
Does anybody know where I can buy a rack
of lamb in NE Iowa? I've called all of
the grocery stores, butchers, and
lockers from Decorah to Cresco to New
Hampton, to Protovin to Charles City and
nobody has them. I'm heading to Mason
City tomorrow and didn'

Not buying meat
Started by:Heinrix_54, Aug/31/10 04:26 PM
I'm thinking about going the entire
hunting season without buying any meat
at all. I'm only going to eat the
critters I kill. I don't know if I'll be
able to do it though. I love me a big
fatty ribeye from time to time
;) Anyone else do this already? Or

Started by:rouser, Aug/06/08 12:16 PM
A few weeks ago a buddy of mine was
telling me about a breakfast fatty he
smoked over the weekend, went on raving
about it all day. I've read about
fatties on the BBQ forums and thought
someday I would give one a try, but it
wasn't high on my list until my

cheese on it and rolled it up. Topped
it with a half pound of bacon, and using
a brown sugar and water mixt
