I have used this site for over a year and love it. Tony and others have made it a home for me.
I took a little more time today and looked some things over and I noticed an email notification. I had several of them check in my preferences but I recieve no emails when they are sent. Are they being sent to my email address? I checked it and it is correct. I did notice that I had been sent several when I looked at my preferences.
Also is it possible to see more topics listed on the front page? I see 15 of the last ones. For me it would be great to see all of the postings since I had last visited the web page. Then I would not mess any of them. I know that is might be a faction of money but I am willing to contribute if it will enhance Tony's site. Maybe I am just ignorant and need some guidance and if you can offer any I just want to be efficient in my use of it. Thanks.
The email notificatiions apparently haven't been working for some time...thought, you are the first I can recall bringing this issue up. I will fix it this weekend. As for the number of stories on the homepage, you can already adjust it:
From there you can change the max stories so that you see more on the home page. You can also choose which topics you do (or don't) want to see stories in.
Is there a setting for increasing the number of latest forum posts that show on the main page? I usually don't check the separate forums unless I am looking for something specific. I like to watch the most active posts but they can get pushed off the current list of 15 or so. I've looked around but have not found a settings for this. Just wondering, great site, I check it regularly.
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
that would be a good option to have.I have seen some new threads slip off the front page in about 10 min.. allot of people who might know something about the thread don't have a chance to look at it.
There is a "View last forum post" icon. If you are logged in and you click on the forum link, the "paper" icon is the one you want. It's the left icon on the right side of the page.
If you go into the "forums" page, on the upper right hand side there is a icon like a piece of paper. THis is a "view all new posts" icon...click on it and it will show you all threads/topics that have new posts since the last time you visited. This is a must use for anyone that isnt on all the time and wants to keep up on all the new threads.
