They fall under the "all other fish" section in the regs, no season, no length limit, no bag limit.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'

Seen this and was wondering if any one might know where to find green sunfish in central Iowa?

Hickory Grove in Story County has some.

Not sure where you are at in Central IA, but when I was in school at ISU I used to get Green Sunfish by the boatload out of Lake Laverne on campus. Unless something has changed, you can fish it and it is loaded with stunted fish perfect for catfish bait. You will get some puzzled looks from students but it was always a great place to load up before a weekend of catfishing.

I get mine at Hickory Grove also. I use a boat and when I'm camped there I go after supper along the dam throw up towards the rocks with a bobber about a foot above a worm and get all I want. Then I use them as cut bait for catfishing at night.
