Spent the day on the water at Belva Deer today with my oldest son on my Tracker Pro 165 and had an absolute blast!

Was on the water by 6 am and we didn't quit til 5 pm. Between the two of us we caught at least 75-80 bass and most were in the 12 to 16 inch range and I managed one big girl that was about 20 inches was probably getting close to 5 lbs. Topwater baits worked the best while it was cloudy and we caught them on spinnerbaits, plastic worms, and rattletraps when the sun was out and the topwater bite subsided. My son used a bigger sized black/chrome popper and I used a black buzzbait for most of the time after noon when it clouded up decently and we just slayed them. We've never caught so many 14-16 inch football shaped bass in a day as we did today.

Pic of the big girl..........

Thanks for posting. Belva Deer is one of my favorite lakes. I wish I could get there more.

Had a guy come in last Thursday to get a wheel bearing for his boat trailer. Said he was camping for the weekend there at Bdeer. He was cleaning up on the crappies apparently they are also biting well. Anyway, congrats to you and your son. Sounds like a fun day...
