I see Cabelas has their panning camera on sale for $130. That's a great price but I see some mixed reviews on the product. Has anyone bought one or seen it in use? I have a flasher already and thought it would be nice to get a camera also for this price.

I have the Cableas brand and the Aqua View but never use the Cabelas. The Aqua View works great and has temp and directional technology. It is a pain to try and determine where that structure is under the water with out it. Imagine trying to find a little jig with out knowing which direction the camera is pointing. Especially if you are fishing in Iowa. The water is dingy many times and you may not be able to see more than 3 feet away.

One other thing I like about the Aqua View is it has a top down feature. That does help in viewing the jig from the same hole. The cabelas brand does not have that feature.

Basically, it depends on how you plan to use the camera. I really only use it now to do my scouting. I have used it for fishing but miss way more fish trying to get it set up. However, it is fun when you get dialed in to fish with the camera. My brother once told me when I first introduced him to it that is was cheating using the camera.

In short my vote is it's better than nothing at all but would spring for the Aqua View.
