Saturday morning Cody and Steve Davis, Dawson, and I got the chance to set up on a field lots of birds had been using to feed after they jumped off the roost. Made a few calls the night before, got the field on lockdown and set up by 6:15 the following morning. Made quick work of the morning when these little pests decided to drop in for a early morning snack. Usually would never shoot into a group of 170+ birds but we made the exception for these little devils. After arguing between blinds whether they were going to commit they put their feet down and 7 shots later we'd finished our business. Hard to pass on these guys when more times than not they're the sole reason for an unsuccessful field hunt.

It's quite the feeling to be deafened by geese swarming all around you and when you raise up having so many in such tight quarters around you. Definently one memorable hunt, and pretty close to the biggest group of Canadas I've ever decoyed.

Good pictures brotha.

We were hunting in Southeast Iowa, birds are still not patterning. Doesn't look like 70+ degrees this weekend is going to help anything. I actually think it was some XPERT Steel. Not even the good stuff Eek!
