Anyone heard if there is going to be another crappie tournament on Red Rock this year? I don't remember exactly who, but I know it was a member on here that put it together. Was a good time, good turnout, hope they can get it going again!!! Its about the only open crappie tournament in central/southern Iowa that I'm aware of, sure wish there were a few more. Anybody know of any?

I was going to post something about this yeaterday but you already beat me to it. I hope someone on here has answers! I did it last year with a buddy of mine on kayaks and it was a terrible idea. Still managed 6th place out of 20 teams though! I just hope its not as windy and cold like last year in the morning.

We are planning on holding a couple of kayak tournaments for C.I.K.A. this year. Tournaments will be multi-species if your interested. Meaning one tournament the focus might be crappies, the next could be Catfish, or even carp. We are still pounding all the details for this year and will only do 1 or 2 tournaments tops but plan on expanding to 4 or 5 in the future. Each tournament will feature a different species at the end of the final tournament we will crown Iowa's Greatest Kayak Angler.

Sounds like a good time! I was referring to the open tournament that was hosted there last year, open to boats as well as kayaks.

Several hotels In Knoxville and Pella, but Knoxville will be cheaper by far. There is also Cordova Cabins between the marina and Hwy 14. They look nice on the out side, never been in them.

I hear the Cordova cabins are nice. Last year the tournament was May 14 if I remember right. I think Mudshark on here was the gentleman that coordinated it

The Cordova cabins are nice but don't think they have openings very often. Both cabin locations seem to be full on a regular basis. I happened to drive through both cabin areas this weekend and all cabins had cars in front of them already.

Going to be a Crappie Tournament on May 13th at Red Rock from 7am to 3pm.

Elk Rock Boat Ramp

1-3 Team Members (16 years old and up, 15 years and less can still fish, but are not counted in the team member count)

1st-3rd Place Payouts, Big Fish and Trophies for 1st-3rd and Big Fish.

That's the info I was able to find on it so far.
